Only because you came on that night
and drank from me -
put your sharp fangs into my neck
and sipped life from me
like champagne
like chocolate
poured over
us both.
You came and swayed me like a
meteor enflamed
through the atmosphere out of it;
I became a whore to you,
I became the divine
from which sparks
of heaven and hell
are cast.
You took me like a man - took me over
and under, and overs,
until there was nothing left of me
I became like night and day,
it was so delicate
like but a whisper
in our ears.
You took me like a woman - drained
every drop from me
until there was nothing left of you,
I made you sandwiches
filled with pleasures
and every desire
imaginable.
But only because you came on that night
was the empty room
filled; it became the inside of outside
or nothing was there
but the possibility
of what we could
have been.
