The candle which burns a far
it is but a fire which
they throw themselves on
to be consumed
for it burns the brightest
above the pointy tip.
There is thse invisible light
which ignites the soul
"There is more than this!"
For like moths to a flame
the butterflies are hatched
from their cocoons there.
Thou understand the lineages
of species and from the moth
engulfed in flames
its spirit entwined transforms
into the vivid colourscales
of the butterflies.
Inspired by Farid ud-Din Attar, The Moths and the Flame.
