As in a tree was sat a panther, or was it a puma,
it's long slender body which grew
as a tree log stretching itself towards heaven,
with it's claws and fangs as crown
and the tail the roots which keept it steady
and balanced through the storms.
Tyger tyger, in veils concealed
in the barch of the forest trees
which mortal could to thee aspire
to unveil thy assymetrical lines ?
Breathing next to me, so close
it sends chills through the spine
of anticipation for at icy peaks
did we lay as lovers entwined.
At shoulders did we rest as tears
to cleanse the wounded hearth
for it beat as strong and fiercefull
in the spirits of lifegiving grasp.
For the spear was put in ground
and the earth did tremble then
as we sprang from earthen womb
with all the might of our roars :
Tygers tygers from the forests
in silken moss and stone was left
our clawprints as we roamed,
leaping through wilderness.
Ah, in veils concealed we all but see what
we then imagine it to be or was it
as real as the tygers which there leaped,
played at its roots, and hid behind it,
crawled into the crown of its jaws to rest
and sleep as lovers entwined ?
